Vegan Chocolate Breakfast Oats ere inspired by my childhood. As a kid, I was obsessed with eating chocolate cereals for breakfast. My mom never actually bought them, so when I stayed over at a friend’s house who had them I’d eat 4 bowls worth. I mean what 12 year old doesn’t want to have chocolate for breakfast?

Looking back now I can see why my mom never bought chocolate cereal. Breakfast cereals are packed with sugar and modified oils. Thats why I decided to create my own, healthier version of my beloved childhood breakfast.
My Vegan Double Chocolate Breakfast Oats are naturally sweetened and only takes a few ingredients; cocoa powder, cocoa nibs, maple syrup, and oats! The simplicity of this recipe makes it easy to make and guilt free. Not to mention it is extremely filling!

Ingredients
Oats
I personally use large flake oats, but you can use steel cut, or quick oats. The only difference (besides the obvious texture difference.) Will be the amount of time you need to cook the oats for and possibly how much water is needed.
Cacao Powder
When it comes to cocoa powder I personally use viva raw cacao powder. It’s 100% vegan, ethically sourced, and raw. This means more of the nutrients are left in the cacao powder. Normally during the roasting process of cocoa powder, all of the nutrients that cacao is known for is destroyed. Raw cacao powder avoids this, leaving you with all the nutritious
Cacao Nibs
I learned the hard way that when it comes to Cocoa nibs it’s better to spend a little extra cash to get good quality nibs. Lower quality nibs can sometimes have a burnt taste, which can throw off any meal. You can purchase high-quality cacao nibs from viva on Amazon for only $11.29.
